Maria Parham Health Presents $10,000 Donation to First in Families of North Carolina

On September 10, Maria Parham Health presented a $10,000 donation to First in Families of North Carolina (FIFNC), alongside premier sponsor Vaya Health. The donation represents proceeds raised through Maria Parham Health’s annual Stomp the Stigma 5K, held May 30.

The funds will directly support Franklin County community members in need of mental and behavioral health assistance, helping connect individuals and families with resources and support in their communities.

“We are grateful to everyone who came together to make this donation possible,” said Emilee Johnson, Vice President of Operations at Maria Parham Health. “Stomp the Stigma is about more than a 5K. It is about creating awareness, encouraging people to seek help and making sure our community has access to the resources it needs. We are proud that the proceeds from this year’s event will directly benefit individuals and families in Franklin County.”

First in Families of North Carolina helps people with disabilities and their families believe in their dreams, achieve their goals and give back to others. The organization is a family support initiative founded by families who sought new ways to provide and receive support. Through its programs and community partnerships, FIFNC works to help individuals and families identify and access resources that support their goals and well-being.

The $10,000 donation will help FIFNC provide mental and behavioral health assistance to individuals and families in Franklin County.

The donation presentation also highlighted the importance of collaboration among local organizations working to improve access to mental health resources.

Maria Parham Health extends its appreciation to Elliot Clark, regional director of community relations with Vaya Health; Dennis Morgan, regional quality manager with First in Families; and Debby Wells, deputy director with First in Families, for their partnership and support.
