Medical Unit

Located on the 4th floor, the Medical Unit at Maria Parham is committed to going above and beyond for each patient to help them recover from illness. We want your experience to be as healing as possible as a result of this high level of care. Our 25-bed unit provides comprehensive care and treatment for patients with a variety of medical conditions, such as pneumonia, stroke, cancer, pulmonary conditions and infections, wound infections and/or digestive system disorders.

This unit takes an interdisciplinary approach to working for our patients. Physicians, nurses, case managers, dieticians, pharmacists and physical therapists all work together to provide innovative care for each patient. Our team is aided by the highest technological advances which allow you to get the best treatment close to home.

Surgical Unit

The Surgical Unit is a 12 bed inpatient unit located on the 3rd floor of the patient tower. Our unit is staffed with nurses who are specifically trained for pre and post operative surgical patients. The nursing team in this unit iscomprised of 100% registered nurses and certified nursing assistants with specialties in orthopedics, urology and general surgery. Our surgical unit is there for you before and after your procedure. Our nurses guide you through preparing for surgery and give you the attention needed to recover immediately following your procedure. Our surgical care unit takes pride in treating each patient like family.

Care Expectations

Our Medical and Surgical care units provide hourly rounding for patients.

Nurses check each patient for the following:

Pain - Are you in pain?
Position - Are you comfortable in your bed?
Potty - Do you need to use the bathroom?
Personal - Is there anything I can provide you with?
Privacy - Do you need additional privacy in your room?
