Maria Parham Health has received the American Heart Association's Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus achievement award in recognition of the hospital's commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines.

The Gold Plus award recognizes hospitals that consistently demonstrate excellence in stroke care by adhering to the latest evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes. The recognition is based on the hospital's performance from Jan. 1, 2024, through Dec. 31, 2025.

Stroke is a leading cause of long-term disability and the fifth leading cause of death in the United States. Early recognition and rapid treatment are critical to reducing disability and improving survival. The American Heart Association's Get With The Guidelines® program helps hospitals implement the most up-to-date, research-based treatment guidelines, leading to more lives saved and better recovery for patients.

"This recognition reflects the unwavering dedication of our physicians, nurses, therapists, EMS partners and every member of our care team who works tirelessly to provide exceptional stroke care for our community," said Bert Beard, chief executive officer of Maria Parham Health. "Receiving the Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Achievement Award demonstrates our commitment to delivering evidence-based care when every minute matters. We are honored to be recognized by the American Heart Association for our efforts to improve outcomes for patients experiencing a stroke."

Hospitals receiving Gold Plus recognition are also recognized nationally by the American Heart Association. Maria Parham Health will be featured in the U.S. News & World Report "Best Hospitals" print and digital editions and will be recognized during the American Heart Association's International Stroke Conference in February 2027 in Houston.

The award underscores Maria Parham Health's continued commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care and ensuring patients have access to advanced stroke treatment close to home.
