On February 16 and 17, 2026, Maria Parham Health celebrated significant patient safety milestones in 2025, highlighting the organization’s continued commitment to infection prevention and clinical excellence.

Through strong teamwork, evidence-based practices and daily vigilance, the hospital has achieved zero catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs), zero surgical site infections, zero hospital-onset C. diff infections, zero central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs), and zero MRSA (lab ID) bloodstream infections in 2025.

Hospital leaders say these results reflect a culture focused on accountability and patient-centered care across every department.

“These outcomes are a direct result of our team’s unwavering commitment to doing what’s right for our patients every single day,” said Bert Beard, CEO of Maria Parham Health. “Achieving zero infections in these critical categories takes coordination, evidence-based protocols and a shared sense of responsibility. I am incredibly proud of our physicians, nurses, environmental services, infection prevention team and every staff member who makes patient safety our standard — not just our goal.”

CAUTIs and CLABSIs are among the most closely monitored hospital-acquired conditions nationwide, as they can significantly impact patient outcomes. Preventing these infections requires strict adherence to clinical guidelines, ongoing staff education and proactive monitoring.

Maria Parham Health leaders credit their success to interdisciplinary collaboration, consistent evaluation of best practices and a culture in which team members are empowered to speak up and prioritize safety at every stage of care.

The organization plans to continue building on this momentum throughout 2026, reinforcing its mission to provide safe, high-quality care to every patient it serves.
