You’re invited to join us for a FREE Lunch & Learn at Maria Parham Health in recognition of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Enjoy a complimentary lunch while learning important information about one of the most preventable — yet increasingly common — cancers affecting Americans today.

Date: March 31, 2026
Time: Noon
Location: John T. Church Classroom, Maria Parham Health
Cost: Free (Registration required — space is limited)

Colorectal cancer, which includes cancers of the colon and rectum, is the third most common cancer diagnosed in the United States. What is especially concerning to health professionals is the rising number of cases among younger adults. In recent years, doctors have seen a significant increase in diagnoses among people under age 50 — a group that historically was considered lower risk. Because symptoms can sometimes be subtle or overlooked, awareness and early screening are more important than ever.

The good news is that colorectal cancer is highly preventable and treatable when detected early. Regular screenings can find precancerous polyps before they become cancer, and early-stage colorectal cancer often has very successful treatment outcomes.

During this Lunch & Learn, Tracey D. Hight, FNP-C, MSN-Ed, RN, will discuss:

  • Risk factors and warning signs of colorectal cancer

  • Why screening is essential — including for younger adults

  • Prevention strategies and healthy lifestyle habits

  • The latest screening and treatment options available

This event is designed to provide practical, easy-to-understand information that can help you take charge of your health or support someone you love.

Registration is required, as spaces are limited. Join us for this informative and empowering discussion and learn how screening and awareness can save lives. At Maria Parham Health, we are proud to care for our community and remain committed to Specializing in You.
