Foundation
The Maria Parham Healthcare Foundation was established in the 1980's with two main goals in mind. This was to provide opportunities to promote and strengthen the hospital’s ability to attract and retain quality health care practitioners, and to acquire state of the art equipment and technology needed to provide high quality healthcare.
The Foundation's Governing Board consists of community leaders who oversee the programs and activities that are supported by Foundation resources. Donations to the Foundation are tax deductible.
The Maria Parham Healthcare Foundation aims to enhance the quality of people's lives in the communities served by Maria Parham Medical Center. This is achieved by supporting programs and activities that improve access to quality healthcare.
The Foundation prioritizes efforts directed toward:
- advancing the skills of healthcare practitioners
- developing facilities that meet the needs of local citizens
- assessing the efficacy of patient care
- promoting good health and wellness education
- Thanks to local support and donations, the Foundation has helped the hospital by providing funds to purchase both MRI and radiation oncology equipment. This new service capability expands the hospital’s scope of services and eliminates the need for patients to travel far away from home.
In addition, the Foundation supports educational programs for the hospital's employees and medical staff members.
