A Pre-Op Orthopedic Rehab Class is offer to patients needing Joint Replacement Patients Education for patients BEFORE the Surgery. Rehabilitation Services at Maria Parham Medical Center is pleased to offer a class for those who have elected to have Joint Replacement Surgery. This class will cover the surgical procedure and before/after therapy, equipment and exercise needs. This FREE class is offered to anyone who has elected to have shoulder, knee or hip placement surgery, even if you are having it at another hospital. The class is taught by licensed physical & occupational therapists. The class is held on the first Wednesday of every month from 3:30-4:30 in the MPMC Classroom. Four County Better Breathers Club is open to anyone with COPD or a lung disease and their families. The group meets every other month (September, November, January, March, May and July) from 6:00pm-8:00pm in the Maria Parham auditorium. CARES – A support group for those unpaid caregivers who provide care and support to family or friends as they cope with illness, disease or disability. CARES stands for Caregivers Allied for Resources, Education & Support. The Group meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month from 5:30pm - 6:30pm in the Center for Rehab Conference Room. ‘Man-to-Man’, a prostate cancer support group, meets the first Tuesday, of each month at 5:30 PM in Maria Parham’s Cancer Resource Room.
