Maria Parham to Offer Prostate Cancer Support Group
The American Cancer Society and Maria Parham Medical Center, a Duke LifePoint Hospital, are pleased to announce that they will host a community-wide Prostate Cancer Support Group Meeting on Thursday, February 2nd. The meeting will begin at 5:30 PM in the Maria Parham Cancer Resource Room. The featured speaker for the evening will be Mack Bonner, MD. Dr. Bonner is the Medical Director of the Butner Federal Prison. He will speak on the topic “Men and Survivorship—An Open Discussion about Prostate Cancer.” The group, called ‘Man to Man’, is designed for men who are affected by prostate cancer and those who care for them. It is very helpful for both long term survivors and those who have just been diagnosed. Men are encouraged to bring their wives, friends or family members with them to this highly informative and encouraging meeting.
