Lamaze Series Offered at MPMC

Childbirth classes taught by Lamaze trained and certified instructors offer a wealth of information and help expectant moms be more confident about the birth process. These valuable classes are offered regularly by Maria Parham Medical Center. The next class will begin on Monday, February 20th at 6:30 pm at the hospital and will run weekly for 6 weeks (through March 26th). Some of the topics discussed are comfort measures; the role of support persons; movement, positions, and environment during labor; and information on breastfeeding. Expectant moms who are between their 5th and 8th month of pregnancy are eligible to take the class. You do not have to be a Vance County resident. Class size is limited, the fee is $50, and anyone who is interested in taking the course must call (252) 436-1881 to register.
