Jay Kennedy Named Vice President of Operations at Maria Parham Medical Center

Maria Parham Medical Center is pleased to announce that Jay Kennedy has been named Vice President of Operations effective April 26, 2010.  Kennedy has been with Maria Parham for nine years, serving in various roles of leadership including the Executive Director of the Four County Health Network (FCHN) and Executive Director over the Multi-Specialty Clinics. This includes Maria Parham Pain & Physical Medicine Clinic, Kerr Lake Orthopaedics, Northern Carolina Surgical Associates, Four County Primary Care, and Maria Parham Nephrology & Hypertension. He also serves as the Risk Manager at the medical center.

Kennedy replaces Mickey Foster who was recently named President of Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville, which is part of the Moses Cone Health System based in Greensboro.

Kennedy received his undergraduate training at Campbell University and his graduate degree in Healthcare Administration from UNC-CH.  He is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.  Prior to coming to Maria Parham, he worked as a Regional Manager over Provider Relations and Network Development with Health Care Savings, Inc in Raleigh. 

Bob Singletary, President and CEO of Maria Parham Medical Center, states, “Mr. Kennedy is particularly  well suited for the position having been part of the hospital family for nine years, having increasingly responsible positions during his tenure, and possessing an excellent temperament for management of people, processes , and projects.  He has a passion for healthcare and sincerely wants MPMC to excel in every way.” 

With his new duties, Kennedy will be responsible for the following departments and functions at Maria Parham: Laboratory, Radiology and CV lab, Food/Nutrition, Home Health, Medical and Radiation Oncology, Cardiopulmonary Rehab, Facility Services (including Housekeeping, Maintenance and Security), Biomedical Engineering, Four County Health Network, Risk Management, and the Multi-Specialty Clinics.

Kennedy currently resides in Wake Forest with his wife, Susan, and their three children, Justin, Morgan and Drew.
